It looks cute and is quite efficent, I imagine. But a cat sucking crumbs off my coffee table might freak my wife out, no offense. XD

A friend and I took our kids to the cinema to see this film and we all laughed so much our faces hurt afterwards!
Take the film on face value and you'll have an absolute ball. Most of the other reviews in here that compare it to the Dr Seuss books don't rate the film, but if I had a £1 for everytime I'd heard someone say about films "it's not as good the book" I'd be a very rich man. Films can never recreate the mental images and dimensions that a well written book can, so divorce these pre-conceived ideas and maybe, just maybe, you'll enjoy every film you see just a little bit more. This one's a great place to start if you want to sit with your children for an hour or so and just have fun!

I bought this film for my 3 year old daughter she likes cats & hats, so i thought why not.)
I watched it with her not expecting much after seeing the rather poor T'he Grinch' I loved it as much as she did, very funny excellent sets and acting, mike myers is very well cast as the cat and alec baldwing is excellent as the evil boyfriend, imagine a cross between austin powers, waynes world wraped up in fantastic costumes and sets and your about there.
my daughter has watched it 9 times in 48 hours...........

I saw this with the children at the cinema, and was a little disappointed. The film itself was stunning looking, with the Dr Seuss colours perfect, but what happened to the rhyming? The Cat was a little too knowing with his asides to the camera, and it was a shame that they brought in a silly boyfriend too. Altogether, a wasted oppurtunity of a children's classic.

This film has the potential to be a very good one!
But alas, the tried too hard, and made all the special effects look plain and boring, and the cat itself (Mike Myers) looks very scary!!!
Avoid if you can, young kids may enjoy, even if they are scared of the cat!

Decided to get together with a group of friends (some who had never met before) and remembered there were such things as Murder Mystery Games. We decided on The Brie, the Bullet and the Black Cat because of the number. We invited 10 people, which is all you need to make it work. From the moment people walked into our house, we were off. Everyone dressing in costume and playing their part from the off. The evening was one of the best Dinner Parties ever and we have been talking about it and calling each other by our character names long after the night. I could'nt recommend it more. As long as your guests get into the mood. i even tried to cook acording to the setting, but in future, will not make it so hard on myself. have fun

Great idea for a dinner party. Played with 12 friends, everyone enjoyed it. Nice for a different kind of evening. Note that it's a CD, not a DVD.

We purchased this game for our daughters's 13th birhtday party after reviewing many of the games on offer. We sent off the invites as suggested and all the girls, 10 in total, arrived in costume looking really authentic. The game was based in Casablanca at the French Mayor's residence during WW2. We set up the dining room, playing french music, and my husband and I dressed up as the butler and housekeeper! These characters were not in the game, but we thought it was fun to do whilst serving food. I had read most of the character books and thought it seemed pretty complicated, and it proved tricky to get the dialogue moving during the first course and the girls needed a lot of help from us to keep the plot moving, the cross questioning was much more difficult than expected. Fortunately the CD summary by the inspector summarised progress at the end of the first course which put us back on track and then each course got easier. The girls were detemined to keep going and stayed in character. Some of the developments were rather 'grown up' but the girls found this hilarious. Lots of positive feedback from the girls, so overall great fun, but I suggest parents do spend time reading all the character booklets to make all the questions easier. A memorable event!
