Leash Training

Leash training is necessary for cats. They may not learn to heal like a dog, but it is good for them to learn to give to pressure. It also allows you to take your cat outside without having to worry about the cat getting loose.

Leash training can take time. There are two types of leashes that you can use as well. There are collars and leashes made for cats and there are special harness leashes as well. These are great because you’re not exerting pressure on the cat’s neck.

Walking harnesses keep our cat safe and much more comfortable. A light leash is best for walking. You do not want the leash to be too long, as you want to be able to control where the cat goes and keep them out of trouble.

Begin by walking your cat in the house before heading outside on the leash. This ensures that you know how to work the harness and allows your cat to get used to it in a safe and comfortable area.
